X Transparency Update Uncovers Foreign Backed Anti-Pakistan Campaign

Pakistan has uncovered a foreign backed digital network allegedly running organized anti state propaganda on social media platform X, according to new transparency data released by the company. Officials say the findings reveal how misinformation is being spread to create unrest, fuel divisions, and distort global perceptions about Pakistan.

Authorities report that multiple accounts operating from India, Afghanistan, and other countries posed as human rights activists to push false narratives, especially related to Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Many of these accounts, investigators said, used VPNs to hide their actual locations while presenting themselves as local voices.

Officials claim that the exposed accounts were linked with foreign groups, including elements connected to India and the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM). These accounts allegedly promoted hate content, extremist messaging, and political narratives aimed at stirring internal discord.

According to investigators, some operators intentionally spread misleading information about terrorism incidents, human rights issues, and political developments to influence international opinion. The activity, officials noted, shows how foreign digital “propaganda factories” have long been working to exploit Pakistan’s internal challenges.

Authorities say the latest revelations highlight an urgent need for stronger global cooperation to tackle deceptive online campaigns targeting sovereign states. They added that Pakistan will continue monitoring such networks to protect its digital space from foreign manipulation.
