16 Hour Long Heart Surgery Successfully Completed at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Karachi

A 16 hour long heart surgery on a young patient was successfully completed at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Hospital in Karachi.

‎According to the statement, for the first time in Pakistan, the surgery was performed using the “Total Arch Replacement with Frozen Elephant Trunk Technique.”

‎Turkish surgeon Orse Kizil Tepe was specially invited for the procedure, and he completed the surgery in collaboration with NICVD specialists. The young patient from Khairpur is recovering rapidly.

‎According to the statement, the surgery, which cost six million rupees, was carried out completely free of charge with the support of the Sindh government.
