In the last 24 hours, 56 new dengue cases have been confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising the total number of reported cases in the province this year to 1,181.
According to the Health Department’s report, the recent rainfall has led to an increase in dengue cases in some districts. In August alone, 1,115 cases were reported across the province, compared to 8 cases in May, 12 in June, and 35 in July.
In August, the highest number of dengue cases was reported in Charsadda with 714, followed by Haripur with 93, Mansehra 67, Swabi 43, Peshawar 30, Kohat 35, Nowshera 22, Abbottabad 21, Buner 17, and Swat 15. Meanwhile, 14 districts reported no dengue cases.
The Health Department confirmed that there are currently 92 active dengue cases in the province. No deaths have been reported due to dengue so far, while 1,089 patients have recovered after treatment.
Officials added that all DHOs and hospitals have been directed to ensure dengue surveillance and an immediate response.
