The Punjab government has introduced a new leave policy for medical staff, under which summer vacations will be limited to only three weeks, and no payment will be provided during the leave period.

‎According to the new policy announced by the Punjab Health Department, summer leave for medical personnel is now considered a facility, not an entitlement. The department has issued an official notification outlining the details of the policy.

‎As per the notification, 67% of the clinical faculty and 50% of the sciences faculty must remain on duty during this period. Additionally, every medical institution is required to form a Leave Management Committee.

‎The notification further states that these committees must submit an annual leave roster by April 30 each year.
