Islamabad – September 1, 2025:
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir in Islamabad, where the two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on regional security, counter-terrorism, and mutual cooperation, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” and agreed to enhance coordination at regional and international forums. Wang Yi reiterated Beijing’s firm support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, security, and development, while Field Marshal Munir expressed gratitude for China’s consistent backing in times of challenge.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to advance peace, stability, and prosperity in the region — a reflection of the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met Wang Yi, where he underscored Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, ICT, minerals, and industrial development. He highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly its Phase-II, as a driver of socio-economic growth and regional connectivity.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for China on its core issues and conveyed appreciation to China’s leadership and people for their steadfast support in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and development.
