Karachi witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday, bringing much-needed relief from the heat but also triggering concerns over possible urban flooding in several low-lying areas.

The downpour was reported across multiple neighborhoods, including Manghopir, SITE Area, Metroville, Nazimabad, North Karachi, New Karachi, Surjani Town, and Nagan Chowrangi. Areas around Sakhi Hassan, Hyderi, and North Nazimabad also experienced continuous showers.

Central Karachi, including Saddar, Abdullah Haroon Road, and Regal Chowk, recorded steady rainfall, while Korangi, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, and Malir reported similar conditions.

Important city arteries such as Shahrah-e-Faisal, Nursery, and Karsaz turned slippery, causing traffic congestion and slow movement of vehicles.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had earlier forecast heavy rains in several districts of Sindh, including Karachi, from September 7 to 9. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious as more showers are expected in the coming days.
