The United Nations has completed the supply of cervical cancer vaccines to Pakistan.
According to sources, Pakistan has received the final consignment of the HPV vaccine. UNICEF has supplied 13 million doses of the HPV vaccine.
The UN agency UNICEF has also supplied 0.3 ml syringes to Pakistan, providing Islamabad with 13 million syringes.
Sources stated that the value of the HPV vaccines and syringes provided to Pakistan is Rs. 10 billion, donated by the global donor Gavi. The cervical cancer vaccination campaign will run from September 15 to 27, 2025.
It was further informed that the HPV campaign will be conducted in Punjab, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Islamabad. Girls aged 9 to 14 will receive a single dose of the HPV vaccine.
Health Department teams will administer the HPV vaccine in government and private schools.
