Shut the Door, Switch Off the Phone, Suryakumar’s Advice Before Pakistan Clash

Just a day before India’s much-anticipated Asia Cup Super Four encounter with Pakistan, stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav has called on his teammates to block out the outside noise and focus solely on their game.

Speaking to the media, Yadav emphasized the importance of staying mentally composed in the lead-up to high-voltage matches. “The best way is to shut the door, turn off your phone and go to sleep,” he said with a smile, adding that avoiding distractions is key when the pressure around an India-Pakistan clash is at its peak.

Yadav underlined that despite India’s strong start in the tournament, nothing will carry forward into the Pakistan match. “It’s not about momentum from the last game. Every time we play Pakistan, it’s a fresh contest. Whichever side executes better on the day will win,” he explained.

The 34-year-old, who took charge in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, acknowledged the hype surrounding the contest but reminded fans and players alike that the ultimate goal is to stay calm and stick to the basics.

India and Pakistan are set to lock horns in the Super Four stage, with both sides aiming to secure a spot in the final. The clash, as always, is expected to draw massive attention worldwide, but for Yadav and his men, the priority remains clear: silence the noise, trust the process, and deliver on the field.
