Karachi: 2,242 Malaria Cases Reported This Year, Health Department

A spokesperson for the Sindh Health Department has stated that 2,242 cases of malaria have been reported from Karachi this year.

‎According to the spokesperson, Malir district reported 205 malaria cases until June this year, while 649 cases were reported up to September 21, making it the highest among all districts of Karachi.

‎The provincial health department spokesperson further said that a total of 162,091 malaria cases have been reported across Sindh so far this year.

‎Doctors say that after the monsoon rains, the highest number of malaria cases have been reported from Malir. Following the rains, malaria cases in Malir have increased by nearly 50 percent.
