The rising cases of heart attacks and sudden deaths among young people in Pakistan have alarmed cardiologists. In response, the new generation of cardiologists has started turning to artificial intelligence (AI) to enable early diagnosis and timely treatment of heart diseases.

‎These experts are using advanced tools such as predictive algorithms, imaging, and data analysis to improve patient care and help prevent premature deaths.

‎At the Pakistan Hypertension League (PHL) conference, during the Shark Tank Cardiology competition, three young cardiologists won research grants under the PharmEvo Research Forum (PRF) for their innovative projects. The competition featured 10 studies in total.

‎Dr. Aamir Shehbaz (Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore) secured first position and won a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 for his AI study comparing two heart attack medications.

‎Dr. Deepa Ahuja (SICVD Larkana) won second prize for her research on using AI in ultrasound-guided cannulation.

‎Dr. Amna Javed Malik (Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, Sargodha) claimed third position for her study on identifying hidden complications in hypertensive patients through AI-assisted echocardiography.

‎The jury praised the young cardiologists for presenting practical and technology driven healthcare solutions.
