The federal government has set a target to increase pharmaceutical exports to $30 billion within the next five years.
A key meeting of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) was held under the chairmanship of Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal. The meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary of Health, Additional Secretary, and the Chief Executive Officer of DRAP.
The meeting reviewed progress on achieving the target of $30 billion in pharmaceutical exports within five years. Mustafa Kamal stated that the government is fully committed to enhancing pharmaceutical exports.
He added that all possible measures are being ensured to achieve the set targets, while the DRAP team and the Ministry of Health are closely monitoring the project’s progress. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that Pakistani medicines gain access to major global trade blocs.
The federal minister further stated that this project is not just a numerical target but a symbol of Pakistan’s economic stability. He said that by transforming this sector into a major export industry, the government aims to strengthen the national economy. Regular follow up meetings will be held to ensure continuous monitoring and progress of the project.
