A prisoner convicted in a murder case has filed a petition seeking the same privileges and facilities in jail as those provided to the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to court records, the inmate submitted his request to the Islamabad High Court, urging equal treatment under the law.
The court has forwarded the case file to the Chief Justice for consideration regarding its placement before a larger bench.
The court remarked that if the Chief Justice deems it appropriate, the case may be scheduled for hearing by a larger bench. Notices have also been issued to the Adiala Jail superintendent and other concerned parties.
