KARACHI — Boat Basin Police have arrested two most wanted suspects involved in short-term kidnapping for ransom cases who posed as army officers to carry out their crimes.
According to police, the suspects were identified as Talal Afzar alias Major Zafar, son of Muhammad Afzar Siddiqui, and Imam Bakhsh, son of Sadiq. During the raid, police recovered two 30-bore pistols with loaded magazines and rounds, an Audi car, four wireless walkie-talkie sets, three bulletproof jackets, and four mobile phones from their possession.
During initial interrogation, the accused confessed to posing as fake majors to abduct victims for ransom. They admitted to receiving Rs8 million in two installments from a complainant named Tajuddin, in a case registered at the Tipu Sultan Police Station.
Police said the suspects are also involved in case number 807/2025 at Boat Basin Police Station under Tel Act 506 and 25-D, while raids are underway to arrest their accomplices.
