KARACHI: A truck yard manager was shot dead by unidentified armed assailants in the Box Bay area of Musharraf Colony, within the jurisdiction of Mochko Police Station, on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the incident occurred near the container yard in Sector 6-D, 500 Quarters, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on a motorcycle rider, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Farooq Khan, son of Muhammad Ameer Khan. He was a resident of Musharraf Colony and originally hailed from Mianwali. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital’s Trauma Center for medico-legal formalities.
Mochko SHO Faisal Latif stated that the victim sustained a fatal bullet wound to the chest. The incident does not appear to be a robbery, as the victim’s belongings and motorcycle were found intact.
Initial investigations suggest the murder may have stemmed from a personal enmity, as a relative of the victim was also killed in his hometown about a year ago.
Police have collected CCTV footage and forensic evidence from the crime scene, and an investigation is underway from multiple angles to determine the exact motive behind the killing.
