Tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel to Murree as authorities warn of heavy snowfall and possible road disruptions this winter.

Authorities have issued a travel advisory urging tourists to avoid unnecessary trips to Murree as the hill station braces for another spell of heavy snowfall in the coming days. The warning follows fresh weather alerts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), which forecasts rain, strong winds, and significant snowfall across the mountainous regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to PMD officials, snowfall is expected to intensify over the weekend, potentially disrupting road access and increasing the risk of traffic congestion and accidents in and around Murree. Rescue 1122 and local administration teams have been placed on high alert to manage any emergencies, while tourists have been advised to postpone non-essential travel until the weather improves.

Authorities emphasized that travelers should stay updated on official weather bulletins, ensure vehicles are equipped for snow conditions, and avoid visiting crowded hill areas to prevent potential hazards. In recent years, Murree has witnessed severe snow-related incidents, underscoring the importance of early caution and preparedness during winter months.

Residents and tourists are urged to prioritize safety, plan trips wisely, and monitor advisories from local authorities before setting out toward Murree or nearby hill stations.
