The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) has unveiled an 18-member squad for the upcoming IMC Over-40s T20 World Cup 2025, blending legendary stars with consistent veteran performers. The announcement was made by former Test cricketer and PVCA Chief Selector Ajaz Ahmed Faquih.

Abdul Razzaq, the former Pakistan all-rounder with over 7,400 international runs and 380+ wickets in 343 matches, has been appointed team captain.

Joining him is Shahid Afridi, one of Pakistan’s most iconic players, who featured in 524 international matches, amassing 11,000+ runs and 540+ wickets, adding explosive experience and leadership to the squad.

Fawad Alam, celebrated for his resilience and reliability, will serve as vice-captain. Having scored over 2,000 runs for Pakistan, he brings vital middle-order strength to the lineup.

The team also includes Sohail Khan (51 international wickets, including a memorable five-for vs India in the World Cup), Zulfiqar Babar (54 wickets in 15 Tests), Tabish Khan (veteran pacer and first-class stalwart), and Humayun Farhat, former Test and ODI wicketkeeper-batter — adding solid depth and experience to the roster.

Legendary Javed Miandad will serve as team mentor, offering his invaluable guidance and cricketing insight. He’ll be supported by former Test cricketer Jalal Uddin as head coach and Azam Khan as team manager, forming a strong backroom unit.

PVCA Chairman Fawad Ijaz Khan expressed confidence in the side’s balance and quality, describing it as “a true reflection of Pakistan cricket’s strength and passion at the veteran level.”
