The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore has relaxed the admission criteria for its four-year BS Allied Health Sciences programs, allowing more students to qualify for admission.

Under the revised policy, the minimum Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) marks requirement has been reduced from **60% to 50%**. The decision was approved during the university’s 96th Syndicate meeting, chaired by Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (Retd.) Prof. Dr. Sohail Sabir, in line with Higher Education Commission (HEC) policy.

The change is expected to expand access to allied health education for students who previously did not meet the minimum marks requirement. However, applicants must still satisfy other applicable eligibility conditions for their selected programs.

During the same meeting, the Syndicate approved five new PhD programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Oral Biology, and Medical Laboratory Sciences. It also approved 1,100 additional evening seats in BS programs at 18 public-sector nursing colleges across Punjab.

The university has not yet announced a specific implementation date for the revised admission criteria. Students are advised to check official UHS notifications for further details about admissions and eligibility requirements.
