Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif addressed the newly elected members of the National Assembly in Lahore, saying that Imran Khan is not the sole culprit; those who brought him to power are equally responsible. He added that the public voted based on performance, and those who boycotted the elections ended up participating and losing.
Sharif criticized the previous government, stating that no developmental projects were initiated, societal misbehavior spread, and foreign policy was bankrupt. He remarked that had the pace of development continued, Pakistan would hold a stronger global position today.
He highlighted that PML-N has consistently launched developmental projects, and now merit prevails in every department working diligently. Government efforts have reduced inflation and saved Pakistan from default.
The former Prime Minister further stated that those who labeled others as thieves were themselves proven corrupt. In Punjab, 120,000 houses are being built for the poor, free healthcare is being provided, hospitals are being established, green buses are running in every district, and law and order have significantly improved.
