Rawalpindi: A shocking case has emerged in which a Pakistani woman was allegedly sold to Chinese nationals under the pretext of marriage. The victim’s video statement has also surfaced, prompting authorities to initiate an investigation.

According to Rawalpindi Police, inquiries have begun based on the woman’s statement and an application submitted at the Sadiqabad Police Station.

In her video statement, the woman claimed she is a resident of Sadiqabad and that a woman named Anaya approached her, saying her parents had passed away and offering to arrange her marriage with a Chinese man who would “keep her happy.”

She alleged that Anaya arranged the marriage, but later her Chinese husband revealed that he had “purchased” her for Rs1.7 million.

The woman stated that three months have passed since the marriage and she is now pregnant. However, when she asked her husband for money to buy medicines, he refused, saying he would not spend “even a single rupee” as he had already paid Rs1.7 million for her.

She further claimed that Anaya “buys poor girls and sells them,” appealing to authorities to ensure strict punishment for her.

The victim told police that after the marriage, the Chinese man took her to Islamabad’s E-11 area, where other Chinese nationals frequently visited. It was during this time she discovered she had not been married but “sold” for Rs1.7 million.

She added that when she confronted her husband, he confirmed paying the amount to Anaya. She stated that both Anaya and the Chinese man have since disappeared, leaving her pregnant and abandoned, and she has requested strict legal action.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the matter has come to their knowledge and information is currently being collected.
