The Punjab government has announced the establishment of a modern cardiac ward for heart patients at DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar.
Speaking during a visit to the hospital in Bahawalnagar district, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir said that practical work would soon begin following the approval of stent insertion facilities. He added that patients would have access to modern cardiac treatment in their own city.
He said that negligence in providing better treatment to patients would not be tolerated. The availability of medicines, cleanliness, and doctors’ attendance were reviewed. The Punjab government is taking revolutionary steps in the health sector.
The Health Minister said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, modern medical equipment is being provided to DHQs. Healthcare facilities similar to those in major cities are being extended to rural and underdeveloped areas. Upon identifying a shortage of medicines for patients, he issued immediate corrective orders.
Meanwhile, the hospital administration briefed Khawaja Imran Nazir on the ongoing development projects, to which he said that the public would soon see clear improvements in the health sector.
