Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated a cancer hospital in Azad Kashmir.

‎While addressing the inauguration ceremony of KINOR, the Prime Minister said that the establishment of a cancer hospital in Azad Kashmir is a welcome development and that there is no greater service than saving human lives.

‎He said that there is no work greater than serving suffering humanity, and with the establishment of the hospital, the people of Azad Kashmir will no longer need to travel to other cities for treatment.

‎The Prime Minister said that he himself has suffered from a serious disease like cancer and understands how difficult cancer treatment is for people with limited resources. Treating patients suffering from a life threatening disease is a great service to humanity.

‎Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed on the project and visited various sections of KINOR.

‎On this occasion, Raja Ali Raza Anwar said that six hospitals have been established in Punjab, five each in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, and one hospital each in Islamabad, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. More than one million cancer patients are treated annually at 21 modern hospitals.

‎In a video message, International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said that the establishment of a cancer hospital in Azad Kashmir is an important milestone and that the use of atomic energy for public welfare is commendable.
