Karachi: Four suspected robbers who were allegedly committing crimes while impersonating police officers were arrested in injured condition following an encounter in the Korangi area.
Police officials stated that the suspects were engaged in looting citizens when they encountered a police patrol near Korangi No. 3. An exchange of fire took place, during which four suspects sustained injuries and were taken into custody.
According to SSP Korangi Fida Hussain Janwari, police recovered official police uniforms, weapons, a motorcycle, mobile phones, and looted cash from the possession of the arrested suspects. The accused used police uniforms to enter houses under the pretense of routine checking and carried out robberies.
Police further said that two accomplices of the suspects managed to flee during the encounter and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them. The arrested suspects have been identified as Kamran, Hamid, Imran, and Ramzan, who were allegedly involved in multiple house robbery incidents in various areas of Korangi.
The injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, while further investigation is ongoing.
