Police arrested seven suspects during separate encounters with armed criminals in different areas of Karachi.
According to details, an exchange of fire took place between Qaidadabad police and armed robbers near Swati Mohalla in the Malir district. During the shootout, one suspect was arrested in injured condition, while his accomplice managed to flee while firing.
A spokesperson for SSP Malir stated that the injured suspect was identified as Zeeshan, son of Maqbool Ahmed. Illegal weapons, ammunition, a mobile phone, and cash were recovered from his possession.
The injured suspect was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment, while his criminal record is being verified from various police stations. The recovered weapon has been sent for forensic examination, and raids are underway to arrest the absconding accomplice.
In a separate incident, Sar Syed police encountered street criminals near Younis Mosque in Sector B-7 of North Karachi. According to the SSP Central spokesperson, police were on routine patrol when they signaled suspicious motorcyclists to stop. The suspects opened fire on the police party.
Police retaliated, resulting in one robber being arrested in injured condition, while his accomplice was also taken into custody.
