The Federal Minister for Health has inaugurated the first digital health center in Karachi.

‎Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the city’s first digital health center at the Federal Government Dispensary Civil Aviation. Through this center, patients will be treated using modern telemedicine, allowing doctors based abroad to examine patients through live video calls.

‎Patients visiting the center will also be provided free medicines. This facility is particularly important for patients suffering from complex diseases such as breast, liver, and lung cancer.

‎The Federal Health Minister said that the initiative aims to reduce overcrowding in hospitals and provide quality healthcare facilities closer to people’s homes. Mustafa Kamal stated that Pakistan has now turned into a factory producing patients, where people visit major hospitals even for minor illnesses, putting unnecessary pressure on the healthcare system. He said the government is therefore strengthening primary healthcare centers so that the public can receive quality treatment near their homes.

‎He said that this is Karachi’s first digital health center, and in the future, more such centers will be established across the country to ensure timely and quality treatment for every citizen.

‎The Health Minister emphasized that attention must also be given to vaccination and primary care to prevent diseases. He added that an agreement was signed a day earlier under which medicines worth Rs9.8 million will be provided to 745 patients suffering from breast, liver, and lung cancer in Islamabad.
