The Balochistan Chief Minister has taken notice of the suspension of treatment on health cards in some hospitals, and Sarfraz Bugti has sought a report on the matter.

‎Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has sought an immediate report from the Health Department and officials of the health card program after the issue of suspension of treatment on health cards came to light. The Chief Minister has directed the provincial health minister to resolve the matter immediately.

‎The Balochistan Chief Minister ordered that treatment of any patient on a health card should not be stopped and also directed that outstanding dues of all hospitals in Balochistan be paid immediately.

‎It is worth noting that more than Rs 5 billion under the health card head of the Balochistan Health Department has not been released, and treatment of Balochistan patients has been suspended at private hospitals in Karachi.

‎According to sources, private hospitals in Balochistan had given a 15 day deadline to suspend treatment, while the Balochistan health card owes Rs 6 billion to State Life Insurance Corporation.

‎Health department sources said that the Balochistan Finance Department has so far released only Rs 1 billion, and despite the passage of six months, outstanding dues of Rs 5 billion have not yet been paid.

‎Officials said that funds will soon be released to State Life Insurance, and private hospitals in Balochistan have not suspended treatment.
