Another patient infected with mpox and HIV has died.

‎According to officials, the 53-year-old patient, a resident of Faisalabad, was admitted to PIMS Hospital in Islamabad and died during treatment on Saturday.

‎Officials said that the patient was also suffering from hepatitis B and C along with mpox and HIV.

‎Officials further said that so far two patients with mpox have died in Pakistan, with the first death occurring in Islamabad in December 2023.

‎According to officials, the patient had no travel history and contracted the disease locally. There is clear evidence of mpox spread in Pakistan, and 53 cases of mpox were reported in the country last year.
