A 45-year-old woman was found murdered at her home near Keamari’s coastal settlement on Monday, police confirmed.
According to officials, the incident occurred in the vicinity of Subhan Allah Mosque in the Keamari Tapo area of Karachi. Upon receiving information from local residents, police reached the scene and summoned the Crime Scene Unit to collect forensic evidence. The body was later shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Farzia, wife of Abdul Muttalib. Police said she was a mother of six children, including four sons and two married daughters.
SHO Jackson, Mithal, stated that the woman was alone at home at the time of the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that an unidentified suspect entered the house and killed her by slitting her throat with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the scene.
Police further disclosed that the victim’s husband resides in Saudi Arabia for employment. She was living with her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and four sons. At the time of the incident, two sons were attending school in the afternoon shift while the other two were at a madrassa. The in-laws were also reportedly not present at home.
The murder is believed to have taken place during Monday afternoon. Police have initiated an investigation, recording statements from family members and area residents. Further inquiry is underway in light of the evidence collected from the crime scene.
