Karachi: The University of Karachi (KU) will start in-person classes twice a week from April 2, 2026. Classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, while online classes will continue on the other days.
According to the official notification, morning classes will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and evening classes will be from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. All teaching and non-teaching staff have been asked to follow the new schedule.
KU Registrar Professor Dr Imran Ahmad Siddiqui said this decision was made to improve academic, research, and administrative work. He also mentioned that departments can hold MPhil and PhD classes on weekends if needed.
He directed all heads of departments, directors, and staff to fully follow the new plan and make proper arrangements. The schedule will remain in effect until further notice.
The university will also provide transport services on both days to help students attend their on-campus classes easily.
