A mysterious skin disease is rapidly spreading in Sindh, with Khairpur being the most affected. The deaths of 7 children within 10 days have caused concern among residents.

‎In Khairpur, symptoms of multiple diseases, including Monkeypox, have been reported, resulting in a large number of children being treated in hospitals. Over the past 10 days, 7 children have died, while 16 confirmed cases have been reported.

‎In fact, this is a skin related disease. Among the deceased children, only 4 tested positive for Monkeypox, while the remaining cases were of Measles or Chickenpox. Some children were also suffering from malnutrition and other complications.

‎The Sukkur Commissioner stated that this disease usually spreads after rainfall. As soon as one case of Monkeypox was confirmed, immediate preventive measures were taken, including infection control in hospitals and prompt changes of beds and bed sheets.

‎He further said that initially there were 16 suspected cases, which have now increased to 19, out of which only 4 were confirmed as Monkeypox. At present, 7 children are under treatment at Khairpur hospital, and their condition has improved significantly.
