Health Day is being marked to raise public awareness about health and to promote the development of a healthy society.

‎Health is not merely the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. World Health Day is observed every year on April 7 across Pakistan. It was first celebrated in 1950.

‎In 1948, the Health Assembly, a subsidiary body of the World Health Organization, approved the observance of World Health Day annually on April 7, after which it has been marked worldwide on this date.

‎Events are organized under the Ministry of Health, Pakistan Medical Association, medical organizations, and NGOs, where citizens are informed about the golden principles of living a healthy life.

‎In the present era, the global healthcare system is facing multifaceted challenges. Lack of resources, limited capacity in research, and governance issues have further worsened health problems.

‎The World Health Organization is a subsidiary body of the United Nations, responsible for improving global health systems and introducing reforms.

‎It is natural for people to feel stressed when facing the possibility of severe illnesses. As a result, an increasing number of people are facing health crises. Although most people are aware of the symptoms and treatment options for physical diseases, many remain unaware of how to take care of their health.

‎In Pakistan, thousands of children die every year due to lack of access to clean drinking water and malnutrition. There is an urgent need for widespread awareness on health issues in the country.
