A high level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir. The Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Additional Deputy Commissioner General, CEO Health, DDOs Health and representatives of allied departments participated.
Preparations and actions regarding dengue prevention in the provincial capital were reviewed. The Health Minister directed that dengue surveys should also be conducted in government institutions and offices.
The Health Minister said every government institution should appoint a focal person for dengue prevention, and ordered legal action against the concerned officer if dengue larvae are found in government institutions.
Indiscriminate actions should be taken under dengue prevention. A red sticker will be placed on houses where dengue larvae are found. Dengue may attack again in the coming days, surveillance activities should be further intensified. The meeting also considered forming a dengue volunteer force consisting of students.
Data of dengue patients should also be obtained from private hospitals and general practitioners. All DDOHs and staff should remain active in the field, and all dengue cases should be reported.
Special attention should be given to dengue prevention operations in the outskirts of the city. Strict monitoring should be carried out in all sensitive areas. Spraying must be ensured wherever dengue larvae or patients are reported.
The Health Department and district administration were also directed to remain alert regarding malaria. All housing societies should also be made part of this operation.
The DC said the situation is under control due to the efforts of the Health Department and district administration. All data during the dengue and malaria campaign should be uploaded on the portal, and third party validation of the campaign will be conducted.
The Health Minister ordered to fully cover mosquito breeding and hotspot areas, ensure full participation of allied departments in the campaign, and urged the public to show responsibility during the dengue prevention campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the anti dengue squad to conduct surveys of the food chain, hotels, tire warehouses, rooftops and other open places.
