Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has denied reports circulating on social media and in sections of the media claiming that Pakistani nationals are being deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the basis of sect or country-specific profiling. The ministry described such reports as “malicious propaganda” and said no evidence supports claims of targeted expulsions.
In an official statement, the ministry clarified that any deportations taking place are part of routine immigration enforcement linked to visa violations, overstays, or legal documentation issues. Officials emphasized that Pakistani citizens who meet UAE visa and work requirements continue to travel and work in the Gulf country without discrimination.
The clarification came after online reports alleged that some Pakistani Shia workers were being detained and deported amid rising tensions in the Middle East. However, the government insisted that such narratives were misleading and aimed at creating panic among overseas Pakistanis.
