A nationwide crackdown against fake and unregistered medicines is ongoing, while several successful operations have been carried out in Karachi during the past three months.
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, raids were conducted in different areas against networks involved in the manufacturing and sale of illegal medicines.
The spokesperson said that large quantities of fake and unregistered medicines were recovered and confiscated during the operations.
Meanwhile, Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said that no leniency will be shown to elements playing with human lives.
He further said that the elimination of fake and unregistered medicines is the government’s top priority and the crackdown against those involved in the illegal business is being intensified.
The Health Minister also said that strict legal action will be taken against the arrested individuals under the Drug Act.
