The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Education Department has officially announced summer vacations for all public and private schools and colleges across the region.
According to the notification, educational institutions in AJK will remain closed from June 10 to August 13, and will reopen on August 14, 2026. The decision has been taken in view of the rising temperatures and to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
The announcement applies to all government and private educational institutions. During the vacation period, academic activities will remain suspended, while institutions are expected to resume regular classes after the Eid-ul-Azha and summer break period ends.
Officials stated that the schedule may also help students avoid extreme heat conditions, especially in hilly and remote areas where travel becomes difficult during peak summer.
