The Punjab education authorities have raised concerns after several private schools were found allegedly violating official guidelines regarding summer camps.
According to reports, some private institutions continued to run summer camps beyond the permitted schedule and engaged students in regular academic activities instead of recreational or skill-based programs. The education department had earlier issued clear instructions that summer camps should only include non-academic activities to avoid additional burden on students during the vacation period.
Officials stated that inspections are being carried out in different districts, and action will be taken against schools found violating the rules. Possible penalties include warnings, fines, and in severe cases, cancellation of registration.
Parents have also expressed mixed reactions, with some supporting the enforcement of rules to ensure students get proper rest during vacations, while others argue that structured activities help children stay engaged and productive.
The department has reiterated that all private schools must strictly follow the approved summer camp policy to ensure uniform implementation across the province.
