Muslims in several countries are preparing to observe Eid al-Ghadir on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah, commemorating the historic event of Ghadir Khumm. The occasion marks the farewell journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), during which he delivered a sermon before thousands of followers and declared: “Whoever I am his leader, Ali is also his leader.”
Religious scholars describe Eid al-Ghadir as a significant event in Islamic history, symbolizing leadership, unity, and loyalty. Special gatherings, prayers, lectures, and charity activities are expected to take place in Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and other parts of the Muslim world.
Authorities in several cities are also reviewing security and traffic arrangements ahead of the celebrations as large crowds are expected to participate in public events and religious processions.
