Karachi: Residents of Karachi continued to endure hot and humid weather on Wednesday as temperatures reached 37 degrees Celsius by early afternoon. Weather conditions were made more challenging by high humidity levels, causing the heat index, or “feels-like” temperature, to rise significantly above the recorded temperature.

Meteorological officials said the combination of warm winds and moisture in the air contributed to uncomfortable conditions across the city. Many areas experienced intense heat during peak afternoon hours, prompting health experts to advise residents to limit unnecessary outdoor activities.

Authorities urged citizens to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and take necessary precautions, particularly children, the elderly, and individuals with existing health conditions. Medical professionals warned that heat-related illnesses could increase if precautionary measures are not followed.

The weather department indicated that hot and humid conditions are likely to persist over the coming days, although occasional sea breezes may provide temporary relief in some parts of the city.

Residents have been advised to monitor weather updates and follow official guidance as temperatures remain above seasonal averages.
