SARGODHA — A local court on Tuesday remanded four suspects into police custody for six days in connection with the brutal murder and attempted rape of a seven-year-old girl in Sargodha.
The suspects were presented before a senior civil judge by local police investigators following a rapid containment operation. The judicial appearance comes less than 24 hours after the victim’s body was discovered hidden inside a local grocery store.
According to a police departmental spokesperson, the prime suspect in the assault and homicide was apprehended during a targeted overnight raid. Law enforcement personnel also arrested three additional suspects associated with the crime scene, including the owner of the commercial grocery outlet where the child’s body was recovered.
The police confirmed that a formal First Information Report (FIR) was registered immediately following the discovery, with the victim’s father directly nominating all four detained suspects in the criminal complaint. The presiding judge granted the six-day physical remand to allow forensic teams and investigators to conduct detailed interrogations, gather biological evidence, and piece together the exact timeline of the assault.
