LONDON — Prince Andrew is reportedly harboring deep resentment toward the British Royal Family, specifically his older brother King Charles III, and is actively weighing retaliatory measures, according to a new report published on Wednesday.

The Duke of York has spent the past 10 months out of the public eye at Marsh Farm in Norfolk since being formally evicted from the Royal Lodge and stripped of his official duties, military titles, and royal patronages. Public interest was recently reignited after a photograph emerged showing a prominent purple mark on his face; however, inside sources have clarified that the mark is not the result of a serious underlying illness.

According to a palace insider, the Duke believes he is the target of a deliberate, coordinated effort by the palace to push the York branch of the family to the absolute margins. He is reportedly furious that the institutional backlash has extended to his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Expanding Legal Investigations

The reports of internal royal friction come amid worsening legal challenges for the Duke. Prince Andrew was formally arrested in February on allegations of official misconduct and the misuse of his public position. Law enforcement officials have since expanded the scope of their investigation, which now includes a detailed review of an alleged 2002 incident involving a woman during Royal Ascot. The broader probe is examining potential offenses of sexual misconduct and official corruption. Prince Andrew continues to strongly deny all criminal charges.

The insider stated that as public scrutiny intensifies, Andrew increasingly views himself as an institutional scapegoat who has been abandoned and treated unfairly by the monarchy.

Financial Audits and Demands

The Duke’s standing has been further complicated by a recent real estate audit. The review discovered that 12 properties currently or previously utilized by Prince Andrew, his family, and his personal staff are owned directly by the Crown Estate or the Royal Family. The audit also revealed that Andrew had been personally pocketing the rental income from three separate cottages attached to the Royal Lodge. Concurrently, King Charles continues to fund the official housing costs for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie at St. James’s Palace and Kensington Palace.

In response to his displacement, the report claims Andrew is demanding substantial financial compensation for the loss of the Royal Lodge, alongside dedicated institutional support for Sarah Ferguson. He is also reportedly pressuring his daughters to maintain a highly visible profile within the monarchy to secure their positions. Royal observers noted that the prominent attendance of Beatrice and Eugenie at the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling earlier this month was a calculated demonstration of this strategy.

Palace officials are privately expressing concern that an embittered Prince Andrew could cause significant institutional damage if he chooses to speak out, noting that his decades inside core royal operations have left him privy to highly sensitive information. Buckingham Palace and representatives for the Duke have both declined to comment on the latest allegations.
