The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million for anyone who provides useful information about Iran’s nuclear programme. The announcement was made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme. The US is seeking information about Iran’s nuclear facilities, equipment, scientists and other personnel connected to the programme.
It is also offering possible relocation to people who provide valuable information. According to the US government, Iran has enriched uranium to 60% purity, which is close to the 90% level generally required for weapons-grade uranium.
The US says it is concerned about Iran’s nuclear activities and its lack of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). However, the US has not explained exactly what information would qualify for the full $20 million reward. This announcement comes amid continuing tensions and diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran to resolve their conflict
