Abu Dhabi, UAE — The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has temporarily closed five healthcare facilities and suspended several healthcare professionals following the discovery of serious regulatory violations during routine inspections. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
According to the Department, the violations included issuing sick leave certificates without proper medical examinations, manipulating medical records, using unauthorized communication channels, employing unlicensed healthcare practitioners, and failing to comply with licensing and record-keeping regulations.
Officials said the action is part of the emirate’s ongoing efforts to ensure patient safety, strengthen transparency, and maintain high standards across the healthcare sector. The temporary closures and staff suspensions will remain in place while criminal and administrative investigations continue.
