KARACHI — At least three Sindh Rangers personnel suffered martyrdom on Saturday after a group of heavily armed terrorists launched an attack on a facility of the paramilitary force located in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Speaking to the media, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Alam Odho confirmed that security forces reacted immediately, eliminating three terrorists during the intense exchange of fire at the local Sindh Rangers headquarters.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the attackers rammed the main entrance gate of the compound with their vehicle, which was reportedly accompanied by a loud explosion and intense, indiscriminate firing near Mosamiat Chowrangi. Following the initial breach, emergency response units—including Special Security Unit (SSU) commandos, the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF), and the Rapid Response Force—rushed to the scene to secure the perimeter. A comprehensive “mopping-up operation” is currently underway to ensure the area is entirely cleared of any secondary threats. Emergency services, including Rescue 1122 Sindh, deployed specialized teams to the site under high-level directives to manage potential casualties.

The provincial leadership took immediate notice of the serious security breach. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar contacted top police leadership, demanding an exhaustive report on the nature of the attack and structural vulnerabilities. Both officials directed law enforcement agencies to take all necessary measures to restore order and investigate the network responsible for the attack.
