Hyderabad Division in Sindh has emerged as a hotspot for HIV infections.

‎According to a report, HIV virus was confirmed in 186 children in Hyderabad Division over the course of one year.

‎The report stated that 186 children were diagnosed with HIV between June 1, 2025, and June 20, 2026, in Hyderabad Division.

‎According to the report, the total number of children living with HIV across the division currently stands at 293.

‎Health experts say that the virus is transmitted among children through unsafe medical practices and the use of contaminated injections. They added that HIV cases in children indicate failures in blood screening, infection prevention measures, and surveillance systems.
