KASUR — A 30-year-old man remains in critical condition after his kidney was surgically removed by a group of men, including a close acquaintance, in a chilling case of organ trafficking that has gripped the district.

The victim, a resident of Kasur, was allegedly lured by his friend under the pretense of a social meeting. Instead of a reunion, he was taken to a private house on the outskirts of the city, where he was held captive.

According to police reports, the captors drugged the man before performing the surgery. He was later abandoned near a desolate area, barely conscious and suffering from severe internal bleeding. Locals discovered him on the roadside and rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital, where surgeons confirmed the removal of his kidney.

District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur stated that a case has been registered against the primary suspect—the victim’s friend—and his unidentified accomplices. “We are conducting raids to arrest the suspects,” the DPO said. “The investigation is focusing on a potential organ harvesting syndicate operating across district lines.”

Medical experts familiar with the case suggest the procedure was likely performed by someone with illicit surgical training, given the precision required to extract a functioning organ outside of a sterile, hospital environment. The victim’s family remains in shock, struggling to understand how a trusted friend could orchestrate such a calculated betrayal.

This incident has exposed a darker undercurrent of illegal organ trading in Punjab, where vulnerable individuals are frequently targeted for their body parts. While authorities claim to be cracking down on these networks, the brutality of this specific abduction suggests that these syndicates are becoming increasingly brazen.

The victim continues to receive treatment for post-operative complications. For now, the police search for the rogue surgical team continues, leaving the community to wonder who might be next.
