A 25 year old man from Kausar Colony, Bahawalpur, has died with suspected monkeypox.
The administration of Bahawal Victoria Hospital has confirmed the death of a patient who had been admitted with suspected monkeypox.
According to MS Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Dr. Abdul Rehman, the suspected patient was shifted to the hospital by Rescue late at night in critical condition. The patient was reported with symptoms suspected to be related to monkeypox.
According to the hospital administration, blood samples of the deceased have been sent to the laboratory for confirmation. Screening of the deceased’s family will only be carried out if the test result is confirmed positive. So far, six confirmed monkeypox cases have been reported in Bahawalpur.
The Health Department stated that the patient had been receiving private treatment for the past 15 days.
