Karachi: The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has issued a fresh clarification regarding Saturday classes in private schools, stating that institutions are not required to conduct regular academic classes on Saturdays under the current policy.
According to the department, private schools may use Saturdays for co-curricular activities, teacher training, remedial sessions, parent-teacher meetings, examinations, or other administrative purposes, but regular classroom teaching should continue according to the approved school calendar.
The clarification was issued following confusion among private schools after recent notifications regarding the academic week. Education officials urged school administrations to strictly follow the department’s guidelines and avoid spreading misinformation about compulsory Saturday classes.
The School Education Department advised parents and school management to rely only on official notifications for updates related to school schedules and academic policies.
