The Punjab government has directed all public and private schools across the province to remain closed until August 24, warning administrations not to resume classes before the officially announced reopening date. The directive was issued by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat to ensure strict compliance with the summer vacation schedule.
The minister emphasized that no educational institution will be allowed to reopen early and warned that action may be taken against schools violating the government’s instructions. The order applies to both government and private educational institutions throughout Punjab.
Officials said the government had allocated one month of the summer break for remedial learning camps to help students overcome learning gaps before the start of the new academic session. School administrations have been asked to cooperate fully and ensure students receive the complete notified vacation period.
The Punjab government reiterated that regular academic activities will resume only after the official reopening date, urging schools, parents, and students to follow the announced schedule and avoid confusion caused by unofficial reports.
