The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has released revised intermediate textbooks under the new national curriculum ahead of the 2026–27 academic session. The updated books replace content that had been based on the 2002 syllabus and are intended to better reflect modern educational standards.
According to PECTAA officials, eight intermediate textbooks have been revised and published. The authority said the books were made available in the market before the start of the new academic year to ensure students and educational institutions can access the updated curriculum without delays.
PECTAA CEO Syed Musa Raza said the curriculum changes are designed to align education with current national requirements and improve learning outcomes. Officials also noted that textbooks for Classes 9 and 11 had already been revised as part of the ongoing curriculum reform process.
The revised textbooks are expected to support a smoother transition to the updated curriculum while helping students and teachers prepare for future board examinations under the new educational framework.
