KARACHI: Police investigating the mysterious death of young businessman Mir Raza Ali have obtained key documents related to the divorce case between his parents as part of their ongoing probe.

According to the records, Mir Raza’s mother had filed a case seeking separation from her husband, alleging that he had failed to provide financial support and meet essential household expenses. The court subsequently granted her a unilateral divorce.

Police said that following the separation, Mir Raza and his sister lived with their mother. Investigators are now examining the family’s divorce records, previous disputes and financial circumstances to determine whether they could provide any clues in the investigation into Mir Raza’s death.

Earlier, an audio recording allegedly involving Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain, also surfaced. In the recording, he is heard discussing the repayment of a debt with a man identified as Noor.

According to the alleged recording, Mir Hussain said that he had lost his business and home in Karachi and had subsequently moved to Islamabad, where he found a sales job with what he described as a good salary package.

He reportedly said that he intended to remain in Islamabad and would repay the money owed to Noor.

“I am arranging the money. If I did not intend to pay, I would not have contacted you,” he said in the recording.

Police are examining the family’s personal, financial and legal history as part of their wider investigation. Further developments are expected as investigators continue to gather evidence and assess different aspects of the case.
