ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has directed electricity distribution companies (Discos) and the Power Information Technology Company (PITC) to implement the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (Nepra) instructions regarding pending net-metering applications.

According to an official statement, applications from consumers who paid their demand notices before February 9, 2026 will be verified as part of a comprehensive review of all pending net-metering cases.

The Power Division said consumers who have completed all required formalities will not face unnecessary hurdles or delays.

Applicants who completed all stages of the process before February 9 will have their net-metering connections added to the system without further delay, subject to verification.

PITC has also been directed to add eligible net-metering connections to its system.

The verification process is intended to ensure that Nepra’s instructions are implemented correctly and fairly, the statement said.

The Power Division added that it would continue monitoring compliance with Nepra’s directions across all distribution companies.
